Our story

Welcome to Eucalyptus Psychology

Eucalyptus Psychology has been proudly supporting the Dandenong Ranges community for over 10 years.

The practice started with a simple idea: that good mental health care should feel warm, unhurried, and human. Care that takes the time to understand who you are, what’s happening for you, and what you’d like to be different.

What began as a small practice has grown into a community of psychologists and psychiatrists working across two locations in Mooroolbark and Olinda, as well as via telehealth. The psychologists and psychiatrists who work from Eucalyptus see children, adolescents, adults, and couples across the full range of mental health concerns, from everyday stress and relationship difficulties through to complex trauma, mood disorders, and neurodevelopmental presentations.

Eucalyptus Psychology was built around a belief that the mental health support we all need from time to time should come with the warmth and respect we all deserve.

The practitioners who consult here take a holistic, flexible, and pragmatic approach to therapy, one that considers the biological, psychological, and social factors known to affect mental health. They personalise their work to the individual using a variety of therapy approaches, and share a belief in collaboration, curiosity, and building genuine momentum towards change.

Psychology and psychiatry under one roof

The clinicians who practise at Eucalyptus Psychology include clinical psychologists, psychologists, and a consultant psychiatrist, each with their own areas of interest and ways of working. Psychological and psychiatric assessment is also available for ADHD, ASD, cognitive functioning, and complex presentations.

Having both psychology and psychiatry within the same practice means clients can access genuinely shared care when it would help, with clinicians coordinating directly rather than leaving that work to the client.

Eucalyptus Psychology values

At Eucalyptus Psychology, the work is guided by three core values: compassion, curiosity, and competence. These principles shape every interaction and the care that happens here.

Compassion

Every individual is met with warmth, empathy, and understanding. A safe, non-judgmental space helps clients feel supported and empowered as they navigate their unique challenges and experiences.

Curiosity

There is a genuine interest here in the complexities of the human mind and the diverse stories clients bring. An open and inquisitive approach makes room to explore the underlying factors shaping thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and to promote meaningful growth.

Competence

Care at Eucalyptus is grounded in evidence-based methodologies and ongoing professional development. Staying informed about the latest research helps ensure clients receive effective, tailored support.
