About Dr Brenda Dobia
Brenda is an experienced psychologist with a strong commitment to supporting young people’s psychological development and wellbeing. She works to understand each individual on their own terms, creating a strong therapeutic alliance to work together on the challenges her clients face. Her approach is strengths-based, focusing on developing personal agency and skills to addresses difficult issues in innovative and empowering ways.
Brenda’s therapeutic toolkit includes foundations in cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic assessment and family systems, as well as a strong grounding in east-west psychologies, narrative psychology and ecopsychology. She has an extensive background in yoga practices, philosophy and therapeutics, which inform her work in mindfulness and mind-body therapies.
In her spare time, you will find Brenda working to try to improve the planet and society our young people will inherit.
In 2020 Brenda returned home to take up residence in the magical Dandenong Ranges after 21 years living and working in the Blue Mountains in NSW. She feels privileged to live and work on the sacred mountain Corrhanwabul and pays tribute to the Wurrundjeri people, traditional custodians of this beautiful country.
