Clinical Psychology Registrar

About David
David is particularly interested in helping people understand long-standing patterns that may be affecting their emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self. He takes a warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth approach to therapy, primarily drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). His approach combines practical strategies for changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviours with exploration of the experiences and beliefs that may sit beneath these difficulties.
David believes therapy works best when it is collaborative, genuine, and grounded in a strong therapeutic relationship. Before becoming a psychologist, he worked in corporate leadership, giving him a practical understanding of the pressures associated with work, relationships, responsibility, and competing demands. This experience continues to inform his work and helps him connect psychological concepts with the realities of everyday life.
David is also accompanied by Nugget, his friendly 5.5 kg toy cavoodle, who regularly joins him in the therapy room and brings a calm and friendly presence to the therapeutic environment.
For clients who would prefer not to have a dog present, David is also happy to provide sessions via telehealth.
