Dr Matthew Blake is a Board-Approved Supervisor offering individual and group supervision to psychologists in private practice, outer-metropolitan, and regional settings.

With over ten years of experience running a multi-site group practice in the Dandenong Ranges, Matt brings a grounded, clinically rigorous, and practically-minded approach to supervision, one that takes seriously both the complexity of the work and the realities of working outside the inner city.

What Dr Blake offers

Individual supervision

For provisional and fully registered psychologists. Frequency is flexible and adapted to your registration and developmental needs.

Group supervision

Monthly peer supervision groups are available for psychologists working from the Eucalyptus rooms and a small number of external supervisees. Case presentations are framed within a collaborative, non-hierarchical format.

Practice consultation

For psychologists who are setting up, growing, or navigating challenges in private practice. Drawing on ten years of building and running Eucalyptus Psychology.

Face-to-face

Supervision is available face-to-face at the Olinda clinic, set among the trees of the Dandenong Ranges, a setting that many supervisees find conducive to the kind of reflective conversation that good supervision requires.

Telehealth available

All supervision is available via telehealth, which makes it particularly accessible for psychologists working in outer-metropolitan and regional areas where access to Board-Approved Supervisors can be limited.

Areas of focus

Supervision with Matt tends to draw on formulation-based approaches, existential and meaning-centred frameworks, and the practical realities of building a sustainable private practice outside the inner city. He is particularly interested in supervising psychologists working with complex presentations, including trauma, personality, and existential presentations, and those navigating the unique challenges of outer-metropolitan and regional practice.

About Matt

Dr Matthew Blake is a clinical psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor with experience across public, private, and academic mental health settings. He is the founder and clinical director of Eucalyptus Psychology, a multi-site group private practice in the Dandenong Ranges he established over ten years ago.

Matt holds a Master of Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Clinical and Developmental Psychology from the University of Melbourne, and has completed research fellowships in Australia and overseas. He has contributed to a wide body of published research across mental health and is the recipient of several awards and scholarships recognising his clinical and academic work.

He has previously served as a board director of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association and on committees of the Australian Psychological Society, with a particular focus on ethics, workforce policy, and access to psychological services in outer-metropolitan and regional areas. Matt brings warmth, thoughtfulness, and a strong evidence base to his supervision practice.

Fees

Supervision fees are discussed at initial contact. Medicare rebates are not available for supervision. Some professional development funding through employers or professional associations may apply, please check with your organisation.
